Why MOQ and case pack are not interchangeable
A supplier may accept a minimum that spans several cartons, or may allow increments that are smaller than one full case. Using the wrong field can create an invalid quantity or a fractional carton.
The product page should show every field independently instead of hiding them behind one minimum-order label.
Calculate a valid quantity
Begin at the MOQ. For a larger order, add whole buying increments. Then divide the result by the case pack to estimate cartons.
If the carton result is fractional, ask whether mixed or partial cartons are operationally accepted before finalizing the RFQ.
- Valid quantity = MOQ + whole-number multiples of the increment.
- Estimated cartons = valid quantity ÷ case pack.
- Estimated gross weight = cartons × gross weight per carton.
- Estimated volume = cartons × volume per carton.
Compare the landed decision, not just unit price
A lower unit price at a high tier can require more cash, more storage and more freight volume. Compare total product value and logistics facts at each realistic quantity.

Yes, but it does not always. Check the MOQ and case pack as separate fields for every SKU.
Why does the entered quantity change automatically?
A procurement tool may normalize the quantity so it satisfies both the MOQ and the permitted buying increment.

It may lower the unit price, but the total product value, freight, storage and working-capital requirement can still increase.
